We are aware that packing for a trip can be boring, yet necessary. There is always something we want to bring along but must leave behind in order to pack lightly. Choosing what to pack may not be easy so we will give you some tips to make sure you bring the necessary things.

Timing your trip

Winter starts in November through February and the coldest months are the first two months of the year. If you are traveling around that time you should pack clothes to protect you from the weather. Spring is a bit warmer, but you should definitely pack dresses, shorts, sandals and tank tops for the summer. They will be the best companions for promenades, trips to the beach and even for evening strolls, besides being your best allies against the heat that hits the city from May to September.

Do not forget your sun screen! If you do, buy one when you arrive. Otherwise your skin may suffer after spending so much time exploring under the sun. The best accessories to bring to this Catalonian capital are sunglasses, hats and a bag where you can place maps, guidebooks and cameras. In order to avoid pickpockets keep your bags closed and within sight range. And if you are traveling in October, do not by any means forget your umbrella!

Footwear for day and night in Barcelona

Public transportation connects all the neighborhoods and will allow you to get around easily. But if you want to explore every corner of the city you will have to walk a lot. So choosing comfortable versatile shoes that you may use on several occasions is very important.
Sandals are perfect for summer days and are accepted in several night clubs, provided you are otherwise dressed properly. Consider packing the most comfortable for you. We do, however not recommend beach wear in restaurants, clubs etc.

Never leave behind

A swim suit and a towel are indispensable items. Barcelona has stunning warm beaches where you will want to spend at least one day. Besides, there are many of the apartment buildings available for tourists to rent, have a swimming pool, so they are the perfect option if you want privacy.

A word of advice…

Barcelona preserves religious traditions and a large part of its population are faithful Catholics. No matter how hot it is, avoid going into the churches wearing light garments, shorts, short skirts or revealing clothing. Be sure to pack a pair of jeans and long blouses for visiting cathedrals or religious buildings.
