Sants & Hostafrancs is a place to “get connected”, via air, rails or with football-fans out to catch a Barça game or fellow professionals at one of the major fairs at the areas exhibition spaces. The barrio is situated close to the International Airport as well as the city’s main railway-stations: Sants Estació and Pl. Catalunya Estació; convenient for exploring the region. And, sports fans have the mighty Camp Nou – FC Barcelona`s giant stadium situated “next-door” in Les Corts. Sants, historically a decisively working-class area, is these days also one of the city’s centre for trade (shopping included). Exiting Sants Estació, on the Eastern side, a futuristic fairy-tale setting for a small lake is watched over by “towers” and an iron dragon. The centre of the Hostafrancs neighbourhood is the Plaza Espanya - gateway to both commercial and cultural Barcelona - as visitors flock here to the multiple commercial fares that take place at the Montjüic exhibition centre, and to climb the stairs to the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, to visit the cluster of cultural institutions at Montjüic. The Plaza is also stage for the spectacle of Font Màgica, the Magic Fountain that erupts with lights illuminating the water cascades, accompanied by music. Staying for commercial events at the Fira Barcelona centres or attending exciting Barça games, Sants will get you there effortlessly.
